New Testament Survey (10)
NEW01
In this module the student will
be introduced to the world of the New
Testament, surveying its geographic,
historic and political background in
order to place in context further New
Testament studies.
The Synoptics (10) NEW02
This
module examines the accounts of Matthew,
Mark and Luke in their first century
context with particular interest in their
relevance to mission today. It considers
some of their similarities and
peculiarities and explores a number of
key events.
John’s Gospel (10) NEW03
Standing
in contrast to the other gospel accounts,
that of John deserves separate attention.
In this module the student will be
introduced to the structure and
significance of this book with an
opportunity to explore a number of key
passages.
Parables (5) NEW04
The parables
of Jesus must be understood in their
original context. This module sets out to
understand them as they were intended,
drawing important, practical lessons
relevant to present day circumstances.
Discourses of Jesus (5) NEW05
The
gospel accounts record a number of
lengthy discourses made by Jesus in which
he presented some of his most profound
teaching. This module examines these and
considers important lessons for today’s
disciple.
Acts (10) NEW06
This module
begins to examine this key New Testament
book within the context of God’s purpose
for mankind. The mission implications for
the student are immense as the good news
of Jesus continues to be taken across
cultural boundaries throughout the world.
Romans (10) NEW07
Described by
some as the ‘gospel according to Paul,’
Romans is immensely important in our
understanding of the work of God in
Christ. This module examines this letter
sent to believers living at the heart of
the first century world.
The Corinthians Letters (10)
NEW08
These letters shed considerable
light on the nature and conduct of early
Christian assemblies, as well as provide
an intimate insight into the heart of a
truly devoted servant of Christ. This
module looks at both letters with ample
relevance to congregational service.
Galatians (5) NEW09
The dangers
of legalism are never far away and always
to be opposed. This module examines the
text of this letter in light of its first
century context and draws some important
lessons from it for today.
Ephesians (5) NEW10
This is a
module that takes us beyond this realm
and into the heavenly places. Though the

Philippians (5) NEW11
Seen in the
context of its historical setting in the
book of Acts, this letter is one of the
most positive of the New Testament
writings. Full of joy and hope, the
student will examine the text in the
context of Paul’s mission work, and learn
valuable lessons for our own times.
Colossians (5) NEW12
The
centrality of Christ in our lives is a
significant theme of this letter, and
this module stresses the importance of
his presence in every aspect of our
living and of the life of the community.
The Thessalonian Letters (5)
NEW13
Among the earliest letter of
Paul, these two books contain a wealth of
useful insight into his work as a
preacher and teacher. This module
examines the contents of these letters
with a view to better preparing those who
would follow in his steps.
Timothy and Titus (5) NEW14
This
module explores the letters written to
Timothy and Titus, young men whose lives
were devoted to the work of mission, and
suggests plenty of important lessons for
those working with congregations today.
Hebrews (10) NEW15
One of the
most significant books in the New
Testament in helping us understand the
work of Christ in the context of the

Letters from John (5) NEW19
Truth
and light are central themes to the
letters of John and in much need in our
world of darkness today. The student will
have the opportunity to closely examine
these letters and consider their vitality
for present day application.
The Book of Revelation (10)
NEW20
Though often considered to be a
difficult book, this module clears away
the confusion and presents a
straightforward approach to a message of
conflict and victory for the people of
God. A healthy knowledge of Old Testament
prophecy is essential for this module.
