Buckingham Park Open Afternoon

IMG_3097
Due to problems with our rented meeting place the Elmhurst congregation recently moved about a mile on to a new housing development on the north side of Aylesbury where nine thousand new homes are planned. We have changed our name to reflect our new location and are now the Aylesbury (Buckingham Park) Church. Three BBS graduates are members of this congregation: Steven Whitehead (1982), Diane Telfer (1989) (now Bacchus), and Learie Bacchus (1991).

On 27th September 2009 we held an Open Afternoon and invited our new neighbours to come and meet us in a less formal situation than a regular church service. There were refreshments for all and craft activities for any younger visitors and we had displays of various projects with which members of the congregation are involved. The new BBS display was much admired and we also had information about other BBS graduates who have support co-ordinated by sisters at Buckingham Park. Eileen Wickenden collects and distributes funds for John Tamakloe (1985) and Stephen Akadjah (1993) in Tema, Ghana and Barbara Fisher does the same for Naeem Sabhir (2001) in Pakistan.

We enjoyed our afternoon together, several local children came in and we also had visitors from other congregations. Please come and see us yourself, if ever you are in the area. Our website (www.aylesburychurchofchrist.org) is maintained (at a distance) by another BBS graduate, Roel de Gruyter (2001). We are preparing the new pages to accompany our new location but the contact details are all correct.

News from students - past and present

This page is being developped to share news of students, both past and present, to show how God is working through his people in various parts of the world.

If you are, or have been, a student of the British Bible School and have some news to share then please send us an e-mail. We'll even try to include a picture if you have one for us!

In all we do, may God be praised!
