The History & Development of
Biblical Texts (5) GEN01
This module
will introduce the student to the
documents upon which our Old Testament
and New Testament texts are based and
will begin to explore factors relating to
the integrity of these texts.
Creation and Evolution (5)
GEN02
The origin of life is currently
a much debated subject with immense
implications. The student will be
introduced to critical areas of this
debate and shown how the evidence fits
the Biblical model with a view to helping
prepare for useful engagement.
Christian Evidences (5) GEN03
In
an increasingly sceptic society, the
student must be prepared to give an
answer for the hope that is in Christ.
This module will address various areas of
evidence to support the Biblical story.
The Nature of God (5) GEN04
This
module will help the student to develop
an understanding of the concept of God
being Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and
explore the relevance of God’s nature to
our mission - the Missio Dei.
Eschatology (5) GEN05
A number of
topics are brought together in this
module that presents the student with an
opportunity to explore Biblical teaching
on matters relating to the spiritual
realms such as life beyond death, angels,
demons, etc.
Contemporary Christianity (5)
GEN06
The student will have the
opportunity of exploring the ‘history of
churches of Christ’ as a worldwide
fellowship, and examining the practice of
Christianity in the world today.
Christianity & Other World
Religions (5) GEN07
In an
increasingly pluralistic society, the
student needs to understand something of
the world in which we will serve. This
module introduces world religions from a
contemporary missiological perspective
with a view to better understanding and
appreciating alternative world views.
Ecclesiastical History (5)
GEN08
This module will introduce the
student to a general outline of major
events which have shaped the history of
Christianity with a view to understanding
contemporary issues within the Christian
world.
Introducing New Testament Greek (5)
GEN09
The Greek language played a key
role in the revelation of God to mankind.
Here the student will be introduced to
the Greek alphabet and grammar enabling
them to begin to understand the language
of the New Testament.
